Made from solid cast iron using the traditional sand-casting method, this extra large cabinet handle offers exceptional strength and authenticity. Each pull is hand-finished in the UK, revealing the natural grain and character of the iron. Minor surface variation is part of the process, giving every handle its own unique character — a hallmark of traditional British ironmongery.

Design

At 9 inches in length, this is the largest handle in the Gareth range. Its generous scale makes it particularly suited to larders, tall cupboards, built-in wardrobes and full-height cabinetry. The straight profile and pared-back form give it presence without unnecessary decoration.

Style advice from Mark

The Extra Large Gareth works best where the scale of the cabinetry can take a substantial handle. I particularly like it on full-height pantry cupboards and wardrobes, where a smaller pull can sometimes look a little lost. The cast iron works beautifully against painted timber and darker-stained woods, giving the joinery a straightforward, utilitarian feel.

Use Case

Finish Notes

Finished with a clear protective wax to retain the natural deep grey tone of the cast iron and slow oxidation. With time and handling, the wax may gradually wear back, allowing the surface to develop a softer, richer patina. The handle can be re-waxed if desired or simply allowed to age naturally.
