This is the real thing, not a reproduction. I tend to use it in pantries, boot rooms, utility rooms and on reclaimed furniture, where its honest, workmanlike character feels completely at home. It also sits beautifully within contemporary interiors where a single authentic detail can bring warmth and personality.

Finish Notes

The cast iron has aged naturally over many decades, producing a rich, gently worn surface that cannot be artificially replicated. Every handle is unique, with its own subtle variations in colour, texture and patina.

Provenance

These handles originate from Thomas Brothers, the long-established ironmongers at 798–804 Holloway Road, Archway, London. Established in 1920, the shop supplied generations of local tradespeople working on the surrounding Victorian terraces and period buildings. When the business finally closed, we acquired the remaining crate of approximately 500 original handles. Fewer than 100 now remain, and once they're gone there will be no more.
