Material: Crafted from two turned spindles of solid sapele hardwood with a warm, rich grain and a hand-applied wax finish. The rail is supported by cast bronze end brackets, available in either Raw Bronze or Oil Rubbed Bronze, combining the warmth of timber with the permanence of solid bronze.

Design: The Pantry Rail is a double tea towel rail designed to keep towels neatly organised without taking up valuable worktop space. The turned sapele spindles take inspiration from traditional bamboo forms, while the sand-cast bronze brackets provide strength, balance and understated character.

Style advice from Mark: We wanted something that felt as though it belonged in a hardworking Victorian scullery, but refined enough for today's kitchens. I use one in my own kitchen on the back of the larder door for tea towels. It's equally at home mounted beneath a shelf, on the end of cabinetry or behind a door—simple, practical and always within reach.

Installation: Supplied fully assembled. The rail gains its full strength once fixed to the wall using the two cast bronze brackets. Supplied with solid brass screws.

Craftsmanship: The bronze brackets are individually sand-cast and hand-finished in Britain. The sapele hardwood spindles are turned in small batches by a British woodturner before being carefully waxed and assembled.

Finish Notes

Available in two finishes:

Raw Bronze – Left unlacquered with a natural sand-cast texture that develops a rich patina over time.

Oil Rubbed Bronze – A deep brown finish, close to black, offering a stronger architectural contrast while remaining unlacquered and continuing to mature subtly with age.

The sapele hardwood is finished with a natural wax to enhance its grain and provide a soft lustre. Variations in colour, grain and texture are part of the character of both the timber and the bronze.
