Material

Made from solid Sapele hardwood, chosen for its strength, durability and rich natural colour. A dark wax finish deepens the tone of the timber and emphasises its natural grain.

Design

A traditionally turned furniture leg designed for bespoke window seats and alcove seating. The turned profile is finished with a distinctive painted green ring detail, adding a small decorative accent to the dark Sapele.

Style advice from Mark

These were originally designed for making upholstered window and alcove seats. I particularly like the little flash of green against the dark timber — it gives what could otherwise be quite a traditional turned leg something slightly unexpected.

Use them as part of a timber frame with an upholstered seat above to create a properly built-in piece of furniture rather than something that feels added afterwards.

Installation

Designed to be integrated into a timber frame as part of a bespoke window seat, alcove seat or other piece of joinery. Installation should use an appropriate fixing method for the construction of the furniture.
