Material

Made from solid sand-cast brass and left unlacquered so the surface can age naturally. Unlike plated or factory-finished hardware, the brass will gradually deepen in colour through touch, air and everyday use, giving each handle an individual patina.

Design

The George is a simple, beautifully proportioned cabinet pull with the weight and substance of solid cast brass. Its softly textured surface comes directly from the traditional sand-casting process, giving it a character that feels quite different from perfectly uniform, mass-produced hardware.

Style advice from Mark

This is one of those handles that doesn't need to shout. I particularly like it on painted kitchen cupboards, pantry cabinetry and wardrobes, where the warm brass sits beautifully against timber and painted joinery. Because the brass is unlacquered, it only gets better with age — the places you touch gradually change, and the handle becomes part of the furniture rather than simply something fixed to it.

Craftsmanship

Individually sand-cast and hand-finished in a British foundry using traditional casting techniques. The slight variations in surface texture and finish are inherent to the process and give every handle its own character.

Use Case

Finish Notes

The brass is intentionally left raw and unlacquered. When new it will appear relatively bright, then gradually oxidise and mellow with use. Over time it develops a richer, deeper patina, eventually moving towards the dark brown tones characteristic of naturally aged brass. Areas that are regularly handled will continue to change differently from untouched areas.
